When a conference or event lands on your desk, the Conferencing and Events Team are here to support you.
We have an extensive range of facilities available to us across our campuses meaning we are able to host up to 500 delegates on campus in a huge selection of lecture theatres, atriums, seminar rooms, meeting rooms, video conference pods, computer labs and more. This space is a strategic asset that provides the University with opportunities to enhance its reputation, showcase expertise, raise money, celebrate achievements and anniversaries in addition to providing the type of facilities our staff and students require and expect.
Our dedicated team have the knowledge to make your event or conference happen and support you in hosting a successful event. We can support you with the below and much more.
- Finding the most suitable venue(s)
- Planning furniture layouts
- Delegate / Key speaker liaison
- Non-academic programme co-ordination
- Technical support including liaising with IT and Estates
- Catering services
- Financial management of your event.
Please note, that if your event is for an external organisation/person, then Commercial Services will need to be involved, as we run venue hire and conferencing activity on campus and need to be aware of all events/venue hire/ conferences on campus where the target audience that’s entirely or partly external. Our involvement is to ensure guest experience and safety but is also to make sure strategic objectives are met and supporting service areas like IT/Accommodation/Catering/ Estates/ Porters are fully aware of activities.
